Moving a database SPID 51 error access error

Hi,
When I follow the instructions found here
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=224071 to move a (user) database I get an
error. This relates to unable to get exclusive access - there is only on
lock (spid 51) - can I just kill this?
sql 2000 - sp3 (so i am told) window 2000 sp4
